Porcelain Dragon Chinese Seal Paste Box with Cinnabar

A striking vintage Chinese blue and white porcelain seal paste box featuring a traditional imperial dragon motif.

This 2 inch lidded paste pot is hand decorated in underglaze cobalt with a detailed coiled dragon chasing the pearl of wisdom. The base carries a four character blue mark and the original red seal paste remains inside.

These small porcelain boxes were traditionally used for cinnabar ink paste in Chinese calligraphy and seal stamping. Today they are highly collectible decorative objects prized for their symbolism and craftsmanship.

The dragon represents strength, authority, and good fortune.
